It is very important when picking out a dog breed of your choice that you research a breed that will be good for you, and possibly good for your family if you plan on keeping them as a family pet. In this sense, Boston Terriers are the perfect choice.
However, as important as it is to pick out what kind of breed would be perfect for you, it is important for you to learn information about the person breeding the dogs. Puppy farms and mills are generally low kept and the puppies are not handled as much as puppies comming from an individual. Puppies in small litters are handled more and become far more personable dogs.
Hershey, for example came from a small litter in which the family only had a few puppies and two older Boston Terriers. They were very helpful in advising how to care for her at such a young age and giving information on breeding as well as AKC registering.

  1. Very helpful post. Maybe when I move into the White House and decide on a family dog, I will choose a Boston Terrier.

  2. What a great blog. We love our dogs. We have a Japanese-shen and Min Pin mix. She looks like a minature boxer. She is a bundle of energy.
